Beautiful Women (Schoene Frauen)
(Sathyan Ramesh, Germany 2003, 87min)
Five beautiful women. Five talented actresses. One night. Five strangers meet at a casting for a movie, size each other up and soon start talking. They follow the spur of the moment impulse to take off on a road trip to escape their frustrations for a day. Somehow these five women are not able to break away from each other, so what started as a day-trip becomes a journey into the night. And in the course of this tumultuous night, longings, hopes and fears are gradually revealed. German w. English subtitles.

Lover Other
(Barbara Hammer, USA 2005, 55 min)
A thrilling journey to the Jersey Isle during World War II, where surrealist artists, lovers and half-sisters Claude Cahun and Marcel Moore make art, love each other and commit imaginative acts of resistance against the Nazi occupation. Barbara Hammer’s daring documentary/ drama replicates the aesthetic and memorializes the heroism of these uncompromising, avant-garde pioneers.
