Spider
Lilies (Ci Qing)
(Zero Chou, Taiwan, 2007, 94 min)
Jade (Rainie Yang) is an Internet web-cam girl, living with her grandma, and making a living of enticing men to trade money for moments of online peek-a-boo pleasure.
Jade’s rediscovery of her girlhood love at 9 years of age, Takeko (Isabella Leong), a tattooist, forms the fulcrum of the story.
Takeko bears a strong and beautiful spider lily tattoo on her left arm, something that Jade craves for herself as she dreams of rekindling their lost love.
Beautifully filmed with lush imagery that deepens this tale of longing, love and the courage to live the life you want.

Freeheld
(Cynthia Wade, USA, 2006, 38 min)
Lieut. Laurel Hester is dying. All she wants to do is leave her pension benefits to her life partner - Stacie, so she can afford to keep their home.
Laurel is told no; they are not husband and wife. After spending a lifetime fighting for justice for other people, Laurel - a veteran New Jersey detective - launches a final battle for justice.
Gripping and dramatic, Freeheld chronicles a dying policewoman's bitter fight to provide for the love of her life.
Winner of the 2007 Sundance Film Festival Special Jury Prize. www.freeheld.com
